Shattered but Strong | Lessons from Hardship in Art and Life
“The cracks don’t ruin the story — they prove it survived.”
Storms That Don’t Ask Permission
Life doesn’t hand out free passes. It hands out storms, broken bones, divorces, and the occasional dragon disguised as paperwork.

I was invited to be the "demo artist" at the Utah State Fair
Art That Mirrors the Chaos
That’s why Shatter Impressionism isn’t just a style for me. It’s a metaphor. The cracks, the shards, the jagged textures — they’re life. You don’t smooth them out, you arrange them into something worth staring at.
Cracks Become Strength Lines
Here’s the twist: every fracture becomes a strength line. Every setback becomes part of the pattern. Collectors don’t just buy my art because it’s “pretty” — they connect because it feels alive, like it’s been through something and come out the other side.
Faith as the Higher Frequency
Faith helps too. Christ didn’t promise a storm-free life, He promised peace through the storm. That’s the higher frequency I’m painting with.
Rebuilding With Stronger Edges
So yeah — life knocks you flat sometimes. But the secret isn’t avoiding the shatter. It’s learning how to rebuild with stronger edges.
If you’ve been through the fire, you know what I’m talking about. And if you haven’t… buckle up. Life in layers is coming for you. But when it does, you’ll be surprised how much beauty the cracks can hold.
